With Apple rumored to introduce a new high-end tier to its iPhone 17 series in 2025, the iPhone 16 Pro Max could be a groundbreaking release even before we see the next iteration.

The upcoming smartphone series is expected to launch in mid-September, as usual. This flagship model promises significant enhancements and will stand out in the lineup.

Bigger Size: The Largest iPhone Yet

The iPhone 16 Pro Max is rumored to feature a 6.9-inch display, making it the largest iPhone ever. This size increase from 6.7 inches would make the device taller and wider, though the thickness will remain unchanged. The larger size may not appeal to fans of smaller phones, but it is designed to offer a more immersive experience.

Enhanced Screen: Thinner Borders for an Immersive Display

Apple is expected to use Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology to achieve slimmer bezels on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. This innovation allows for a more efficient circuitry layout under the display, reducing bezel size to just 1.15 mm.

This is an improvement from the 1.5 mm bezels on the iPhone 15 Pro models, achieved through low-injection pressure over-molding (LIPO) technology.

Advanced Camera: Dual 48MP Lenses for Superior Photography

The iPhone 16 Pro Max is set to feature a significantly enhanced camera system. It will include a 48-megapixel Sony IMX903 sensor with a stacked design, offering better performance and image quality.

The camera will also have a 14-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) for high-quality data conversion and Digital Gain Control (DCG) for improved dynamic range and noise control. Additionally, the Ultra-Wide camera will be upgraded to 48 megapixels, up from 12 megapixels in the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Another leak suggests that it will boast a super periscope camera.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature battery cells with increased energy density, potentially offering longer battery life without increasing the battery's physical size.

The device is also rumored to utilize stacked battery technology, which could further enhance battery capacity and lifespan.

Early rumors suggest an impressive battery life of over 30 hours, compared to 29 hours for the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Increased Storage: More Space for Your Needs

The iPhone 16 Pro Max might introduce a new 2TB storage option, aligning it with the iPad Pro. This upgrade is rumored to be due to Apple's switch to higher-density Quad-Level Cell (QLC) NAND flash for higher storage models.

QLC NAND allows more storage in a smaller space and is more cost-effective than the Triple-Level Cell (TLC) NAND used in current iPhones.
