Apple has revealed a new accessibility feature in the upcoming iOS 18: Reader Mode in the Magnifier app. This innovative feature will transform words in images into uniform lines of text, enhancing readability.
Users will also have the option to change the font and have the text read aloud, although specific details are yet to be disclosed.
Enhanced Integration with the Action Button
In addition to Reader Mode, iOS 18 will introduce an easier way to access the Magnifier app's Detection Mode using the Action button.
Initially launched with the iPhone 15 Pro models, the Action button is expected to be included in the entire iPhone 16 lineup.
According to a report by MacRumors, Detection Mode can identify and read aloud all text within the iPhone camera's field of view, significantly assisting users with visual impairments.
