Rockstar Games and Grand Theft Auto VI
Last December, the much-awaited trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI was released from Rockstar after the company removed all of its Instagram posts, with many speculating that it is making way for the official sneak peek.
This so-called Trailer 1 brought significant details about the upcoming game, particularly with its new engine and improvements in quality, gameplay, and more.
Rockstar introduced the first-ever female lead of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, Lucia, who was seen following a previous GTA recipe where they were fresh out of prison.
It is also set in Vice City, the in-game version of Miami, FL, with the game centering on two leads, as opposed to GTA V's three main characters.
This first trailer garnered a total of 85 million views in its first 24 hours, creating a new record on YouTube, and dethroned MrBeast's previous historical feat.
It only goes to show that Grand Theft Auto VI is a highly-awaited title from Rockstar, considering that this was more than ten years in the making, with the last game released in 2013.
Insiders and leakers have shared that Rockstar is targetting a Spring 2025 release date, but there are speculations behind the team lagging in development, one that may cause another year's delay for a 2026 release of the anticipated title.
