The highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI may be nearing its release date as new reports claim that Rockstar Games is in its "final" development stage. It was previously revealed that GTA VI will finally arrive in 2025, but it remains unknown when exactly 2025 will the game arrive, especially as Rockstar did not announce a more specific release window for the game.
Since the announcement from Rockstar last December, the world has rejoiced with what the new game has to offer, revolutionizing the game with a new female lead in the series.
GTA VI is Now in its 'Final' Stage of Development
A new report from Bloomberg brought a significant update to Grand Theft Auto VI, stating that the game is already on its "final stretch" of development, with new changes over at Rockstar Games. Employees are reportedly asked to report to its physical offices for five days a week, back to its regular setup, highlighting its massive shift towards focusing on its development.
It was said that the reason behind this is to avoid any further leaks regarding the game's development, with Rockstar previously suffering this incident in 2022.
Moreover, an internal message from Rockstar's head of publishing, Jenn Kolbe, revealed that these changes will help deliver a "level of quality" and "polish" the next Grand Theft Auto game.
Is GTA VI Coming Soon-When to Expect?
Apart from this latest internal information, there is no more additional intel regarding GTA VI's development, and there were no mentions of release dates or windows for the sequel title. It is unknown if this return to office would also help speed up the game's development, and while it is believed that this would help make it available soon, there may still be roadblocks for the developers to meet along the way before its 2025 release date.
Rockstar Games and GTA VI
After years of speculation and anticipation for the official announcement from Rockstar Games, the developers finally gave the world the reveal trailer, which confirmed what to expect from Grand Theft Auto VI. The game, confirmed for 2025, would be 12 years in the making, with GTA V, the last mainline drop from Rockstar, last released in September 2013.
Rockstar prepared significantly for the fated December trailer release last year, with the company deleting all of its Instagram posts on its official account to make way for the game.
Here, it centered on the female lead, Lucia, who recently got out of prison and confirmed the game's main setting to be Vice City, accurate to many claims and leaks.
Grand Theft Auto VI's trailer reveals set up massive expectations for the game, especially with its stellar improvements in the graphics, overall feels, and new features highlighted by the teaser. The world and GTA fans are now in the waiting game for Rockstar's upcoming updates behind the sixth main installment of the franchise, with reports believing the game is in its final stretch, set for a 2025 release.
