Apple to Bring 4 Vision Pros to Reach ‘Ideal Form’—Will the Headset be a Mainline Release?

Yep, the Vision Pro we have now is not yet at its peak.

The latest release from Apple is regarded as one of the most advanced technologies of the present, with the Vision Pro highly regarded by the tech world, attesting to the mixed-reality features it has available. However, in a new report by a renowned Apple analyst, he regarded that the first edition is not yet the "ideal form," and may take up to four releases before it reaches this goal.

For now, users would have to make do with the Apple Vision Pro, centering on its famed features, as well as the issues found with it.

According to Mark Gurman's recent Power On newsletter via Bloomberg, the future awaits Vision Pro to bring its "ideal form," and what the world has now is not yet at that level. That being said, it could take as much as four generations of the Vision Pro before it reaches this ideal form, one that could be the perfect version of what Cupertino envisions for the wearable.

Currently, while there are massive praises for the wearable, there are also significant complaints like the comfort of its use as it is heavy compared to other wearables.

Moreover, there are also complaints about its battery, software, dedicated apps, and several problems found on the visionOS.

Will the Vision Pro be a Mainline Release?

The Vision Pro started its release now, but it is not expected to be updated annually like the mainline releases of the company like the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and more.

However, it is speculated by Gurman that if Apple perfects the Vision Pro, it could be a mainline release, one that could possibly replace the iPad in the future.

Apple Vision Pro and Early Use

Many were pleased with what the Apple Vision Pro brought and since WWDC 2023, the world already anticipated the renowned wearable from the company, which was met with enthusiasm by the public.

Despite this, there are already speculations for the next-gen releases of the Vision Pro, with Gurman also claiming that Apple will offer a more affordable wearable soon, significantly less than its current $3,500 price tag. It is true that the Vision Pro is extremely expensive now compared to its competitors, but that may soon change as the future offers of the company come to light.

The device is also manufactured and sourced its part on China, and if Apple looks into reducing its prices, it may also change the country it is currently producing the wearables, like with the iPad's move to India.

Certainly, this latest iteration of the Apple Vision Pro checked all the boxes of what the world was looking for in a wearable mixed-reality headset, something that went beyond the competition. However, it is not yet in its "ideal form," hinting that its peak will come sooner in the future based on speculations by Gurman, but would have to wait for four generations before this.
