Apple Vision Pro: Use it Without the Light Seal for Better Immersive Experience says Redditors

Vision Pro users now give out hacks to make it more immersive.

The Apple Vision Pro is one complete beast of a wearable, but its current owners are looking at other ways to upgrade the experience on the headset, and one of the easiest and simplest mods is by removing the light seal. This material is known for acting as the cover to prevent light pollution from entering the headset and minimize distractions from the outside world, but removing it was said to bring a better immersive experience.

Apple Vision Pro: Use Without the Light Seal for a Better, Immersive Experience

A new Reddit thread under the r/VisionPro group is sparking new conversations on how to make the experience better, with several users who shared it via X, also attesting to the experience. In the thread, the original poster said that owners should take the light seal off, use the bands to secure the headset in place, and hold it up the nose using its dedicated bridge for additional support.

Through this, users will be treated to an all-new experience with the Vision Pro, with other Redditors also attesting to the experience saying that it has "incredible" FOV (field of vision). Moreover, it was regarded as "peering into a pair of glasses."

It also makes the lenses closer to the eyes compared to having the light seal attached, helping expand more of the FOV, says the OP.

Vision Pro: Should You Use the Light Seal or No?

The light seal was designed to have the Vision Pro hold better on one's face, as well as immerse users better with less light pollution coming in, "sealing" the eyes to the headset. Users are now inviting more people to try the experience without the light seal, which is not recommended by Apple and may halt the entire experience if the headset is close to the eyes.

That being said, this would matter on preference, as users may do it either way and still get what Apple wants the world to experience with the Vision Pro.

Apple Vision Pro: Mixed-Reality Features

The renowned wearable headset from Apple, the Vision Pro, was made available for preorder customers, walk-in purchases via stores, and testing the experience last Friday, offering the mixed-reality headset to users. It saw massive hype from fans and enthusiasts, with many trying out the experience from the top XR headset available now in the market.

While it is one of the most anticipated techs today, there are still splitting sides on the Vision Pro, especially in the tech industry where platforms like Netflix, Spotify, and YouTube did not release a dedicated app for the visionOS.

Still, other platforms committed themselves to bringing their products and services to the Vision Pro, with Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, and more opting in.

The immersive experience from Vision Pro's mixed-reality features is highly regarded says the reviews, but it is not perfect as some users claimed several issues they found with the wearable.

Many experiences may be accessed if owning the headset, but users are now sharing better ways to get what they are looking for from the Vision Pro, and without the light seal, this is still achievable, albeit, better says its owners.
