Meta's Celebrity AI Chatbots Are Now Available Across Its US Apps

These AI characters are based on famous personalities like Paris Hilton, MrBeast, and many more.

Meta has completed the rollout of its 28 AI characters across its social media apps, allowing users in the United States to converse with them.

These AI characters, featuring personalities based on real-life celebrities such as Paris Hilton, MrBeast, Kendall Jenner, and many more, were introduced earlier this year.

'Long-Term Memory' Feature of Meta

Meta has also announced that more of its AI characters will now support search functionality powered by Bing. Additionally, the company is experimenting with a "long-term memory" feature in several characters.

This new feature means the AI characters will retain and remember users' conversations, even after they end. While this creates a more realistic and personalized experience, it also allows Meta to accumulate user data between sessions, contributing to the improvement of its AI products over time.

The long-term memory feature is being introduced in specific AI characters, including Billie (based on Kendall Jenner), Carter (a dating coach), Scarlett (a "hype woman bestie"), Zach (based on MrBeast), Victor (based on Dwyane Wade), Sally (based on Sam Kerr), and Leo (a career coach).

Meta is positioning these AI characters as virtual assistants, enhancing user experiences across its messaging platforms.

Imagine With Meta AI

The company continuously evolves its Meta AI, introducing new features to improve messaging experiences and employing it behind the scenes to power smart capabilities across its products.

One significant update is the introduction of "imagine with Meta AI," a text-to-image generation capability. This feature allows users to create and share images on the fly.

The company also added a new feature to Meta AI on Messenger and Instagram called "reimagine," which allows users to generate entirely new images by riffing on the initial photo you requested.

It introduces a social and collaborative element to the AI-generated image creation process. Reels, a feature popular on Instagram, are also being introduced in Meta AI chats.

Users can now ask Meta AI for recommendations or information, and the AI will respond with Reels showcasing relevant content. Meta AI is not limited to chat interactions but is also utilized behind the scenes to enhance product experiences on Facebook and Instagram.

The technology powers AI-generated post comment suggestions, community chat topic suggestions in groups, search results, and even improved product copy in online shops.

Meta AI In Various Platforms

The company is exploring ways to integrate Meta AI into various aspects of its platforms, making it a more connected and personal assistant over time.

Meta AI aims to make expression and discovery easier for users, from creating birthday greetings to editing Feed posts, drafting introductions for Facebook Dating profiles, and setting up new Groups.

Meta is also testing suggested replies in direct messages (DMs) for creators to help them engage with their audiences more efficiently. Creators will receive draft replies based on the tone and content of the received messages.

In terms of privacy and transparency, Meta is introducing invisible watermarking to the image with the Meta AI experience. It aims to increase transparency and traceability of AI-generated images.
