The new delivery system by Amazon, drone deliveries, is looking to grow its services come next year, starting its operations in the United Kingdom and Italy as part of its expansion. Moreover, the company is also looking to add a third US city that will be serviced by its drones, offering to drop off packages without the need to use their vans, bikes, and more.
This service is known as "Prime Air," and it primarily offers a way for users to receive their packages faster and easier, as long as it is within the load limit of the drones.
Amazon Drone Deliveries to Start in the UK, Italy Next Year
Drone deliveries are expanding, and one of the top companies headlining this is Amazon, the renowned e-commerce giant recently shared in its latest blog post. According to Amazon, Prime Air will soon be available in Europe Italy, and the United Kingdom, with the program starting late next year, with the company naming the exact cities for this service in the coming months.
One of the main perks of this drone delivery service is that ordered packages that center on this delivery option, particularly those that are eligible in terms of size and weight, would have it in an hour or less.
Amazon claimed that its pilot programs center on packages weighing up to five pounds, seeing safe and successful feats for a year.

Third US City is Seeing Prime Air Availability by 2024
Apart from the UK and Italy, Amazon is also looking to expand to its third city in the US for its drone delivery service, but this new area of operation remains unnamed. Prime Air is also looking to unveil its new MK30 drone design which promises to be quieter, smaller, and lighter compared to previous models.
Previously, Amazon also allowed delivering prescription medicine via drones in College Station, Texas, and in its first base of operations in California.
Amazon's Prime Air Drone Delivery Service
Almost a decade ago, the first news regarding Amazon's foray into a drone delivery service was unveiled to the world, and it promised significant capabilities once it was made available for the country. However, there were various setbacks faced by the company formerly led by Jeff Bezos, seeing slow FAA regulations and licensing for its initial tests and dry runs.
However, fast forward to 2022, Amazon finally completed the requirements, tests, licenses, and more to start its drone delivery service known as Prime Air, with the company first launching its service in Lockeford, California. Through this air-based logistics technology, eligible service areas and packages that can be carried by drones were sent through this new kind of delivery program.
All of Amazon's plans will unfold by 2024, including the third US city that will get to see and experience the new delivery system of the e-commerce giant, fully-remote, and zero interactions for customers.
