Mortal Kombat 1 Update Steam

"Mortal Kombat 1" arrived on Nintendo Switch with a lot of expectations from the players. It turns out that its debut became a disaster when people made fun of its visuals—a level perceivable as "meme-worthy."

To address the glaring issues in the game, NetherRealm released a much-needed update that it hopes will stop fans from further criticizing MK1.

Is the post-launch patch enough to satisfy the fans' demand for "Mortal Kombat 1?"

Did the MK1 Switch Update Make a Big Difference?

Based on IGN's report, some fans still can't get over the bad reputation that "Mortal Kombat 1" brought to Nintendo Switch. Since the patch was just released overnight, it's still too early to judge the game, according to some fans.

On the r/NintendoSwitch subreddit, people are debating if the "Mortal Kombat 1" Switch patch is good enough or if the differences are barely noticeable.

According to one user, NetherRealm made them redownload the whole game only to see "slightly noticeable" changes.

Another Redditor wrote that the most significant issue is the loading times and laggy menus. He suggested that the developers could have replaced the 3D models with 2D animations if they couldn't load the characters fast in the character selection screen.

The commenter added that he still enjoyed the revamped MK1 on Nintendo Switch.

"Gameplay itself is okayish, I enjoy it. Another thing is that they finally "added" missing facial animations, so they don't look as awkward as before. And it looks decent on 1080p TV in docked mode. Played a bit of story mode, some versus and online matches, even local versus matches with my son and we both enjoyed it. It seems quite stable now," the person wrote.

After the patch was made, IGN rated the current-gen version of "Mortal Kombat 1" with an 8/10 rating. Visiting the previous review, the game guide site only gave the Switch version ported by Saber and Shiver with a 3/10 grade.

Meanwhile, some MK1 fans are debating about the performances of Megan Fox and Ronda Rousey in the game. Some people criticized the characters for their lackluster acting, per GameRant.

Fans thought that professional voice actors (VAs) should be hired since they are better choices than mere actors.

They hope that real VAs will give more justice to the character than resorting to celebrity casting, especially when it comes to their beloved characters.
