According to the story by The Verge, the DJI Mini 4 Pro comes with omnidirectional obstacle sensing as well as other abilities. These include the flying gadget getting double the transmission distance, allowing for long-range shoots.
The article highlights how Skydio has officially exited the consumer drone business which is why DJI is the remaining option. This comes as the DJI Mini 4 Pro is launching which suggests massive improvements from other models, being the first option to come with omnidirectional obstacle sensing.
The Binocular Vision of the Newer DJI Mini 4 Pro Makes a Huge Difference in the Drone's Capabilities
As highlighted by The Verge, they tested out the 2022 Mini 3 Pro and saw that it was able to see forwards, backward, and down. However, they still crashed the flying device into a tree.
It was noted that binocular vision, on the other hand, will potentially be a huge upgrade. With the smaller wingspan compared to the Air version, users would be able to fly their drones through the trees and/or branches.
