Get ready for the next battle, as "Tekken 8" is coming really soon! After months of character reveals, and teasers, Bandai Namco has finally announced the official release date for the highly-anticipated 8th installment of Tekken.
"Tekken 8" will be officially released on January 26, 2024, and pre-orders have already started on August 22. The game will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
New Single-Player Mode of 'Tekken 8'
Bandai Namco released the content trailer of "Tekken 8" on YouTube. The video featured a new single-player mode called Arcade Quest.
It appears to be a nod to the arcade era when video games truly hit their prime. This mode will enable players to fight against friends and other users within local gaming ecosystems.
"Arcade Quest is a new single player mode that will prove the ultimate training ground, tapping into the franchise's roots to introduce a new way to play and polish skills," Bandai Namco said in a statement.
"In this mode, players can create and customize their own avatar and 'visit' different arcades to participate in matches designed to improve their play and teach new techniques," it added.
The video game company has been releasing character trailers for months to spark more hype and anticipation from the fans. Besides mainstay characters like Jin, Kazuya, Nina, and many more, they also featured new characters like Azucena and returning ones such as Raven.
But more surprisingly, it has also brought back Jun Kazama, Jin's mother, after more than 10 years since her last appearance in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 in 2011.
She was first introduced in "Tekken 2" released in 1995. Her storyline continued in "Tekken 3," but in her story mode, she mysteriously disappeared. For a long time, fans thought she's been dead, but "Tekken 8" confirms that she is alive and kicking!
The new trailer also revealed that the game will still feature legacy characters, including Shaheen, Steve Fox, Dragunov, Leo, Yoshimitsu, and Kuma.
