Netflix Confirms Cast of 'Wet Hot American Summer' in New Teaser

Ready to take a trip down memory lane? With Netflix gearing up to release "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp" an eight-episode series based on the 2001 cult flick "Wet Hot American Summer," be prepared to take a trip to Camp Firewood.

Netflix has just unveiled the cast in a teaser video. It will be a limited series and will release on Netflix this summer. The David Wain classic will take us back to the first day of Camp Firewood in 1981, over a decade after the film's release.

While the 2001 film had the first day of a fictional Jewish camp in 1981 as its backdrop, "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp" as the name suggests is set on the first day.

Netflix has managed to pull out a coup as the entire original cast of the movie will be appearing in the series. Keeping the sensibilities and essence of the movie intact will be David Wain who is also directing the series. The script has been co-written by Wain and Michael Showalter - the original writing team.

The cast of the movie includes Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, Marguerite Moreau, David Hyde Pierce, Rob Huebel, Jayma Mays, Lake Bell, Richard Schiff, Molly Shannon, Michael Showalter, Christopher Meloni, Zak Orth, Joe Lo Truglio, Michaela Watkins, A.D. Miles, Randall Park, Judah Friedlander, David Wain, Ken Marino, Kevin Sussman, John Slattery, Josh Charles, Amy Poehler, Janeane Garofalo, H. Jon Benjamin, Paul Scheer and Paul Rudd.

The eight-episode series will also see four new cast members join the original stars of the classic movie - Kristen Wiig, Jon Hamm, Chris Pine and Jason Schwartzman.

Schwartzman is reportedly playing the role of the head counselor at the boy's camp, whereas Hamm is a secret spy. Wiig will also play a counselor for the rival Camp Tiger Claw. Pine's character is said to be mysterious.
