AI chatbots become the bloodline of the internet as more companies depend on them. With ChatGPT and other platforms overtaking the scene, it will only take some time before other firms catch up to them.
Recently, Facebook's parent company Meta says that AI chatbots are coming soon. These are not ordinary chatbots since they will feature specific personalities to provide seamless interaction with the users.
Meta to Launch AI Chatbots With Personalities
As Financial Times reports on Tuesday, Aug. 1, Meta, the creator of the Twitter-like app Threads, is now polishing its next creation in the form of AI chatbots.
The AI chatbots dubbed "personas" are anticipated to be available by September. According to the reports, the social media giant will likely benefit from the chatbots via improved searchability and recommendations for users.
This might give the users a notion of a particular personality that they want to talk with. The report says that one of the most famous personas coming next month is the digital chatbot of the late President Abraham Lincoln.
With Meta continuing its battle with Elon Musk who just rebranded Twitter to X, it further needs to improve its business model if it wants to retain more customers in the long run.
Of course, we have seen the success behind Facebook, but we can't conclude as early as now if it's the same with Threads.
The competition is only between Meta and Twitter since more people are also flocking to TikTok for the best short-form videos.
With the competition becoming tighter, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg needs to devise methods in order to become more "creative" and "expressive" with their tools.
Meta Might Use Personas to Gain Revenue
As per CNET's report, the rollout of AI chatbots could prompt Meta to see it as another stream of revenue. It might also be used for targeting ads in a given market.
With AI chatbots bearing unique personalities, it might be easier for users to like them at first glance. If something is relatable, then people will immediately test the feature to see if it aligns with their interests.
Meta Should Make AI Chatbots More Meaningful
Meta should take a page in the book of OpenAI's ChatGPT if it wants to thrive in the business. Of course, people do not want to utilize an app or a platform that's boring and useless at the same time.
With this, Meta might gain insights on how to run an effective AI chatbot that will magnet millions of customers worldwide.
It's important to know that while chatbots are engaging to use, they pose some risks to both users and owners. As much as possible, the companies want the chatbots to be as friendly as possible. They also avoid generating responses that might trigger a minority including prompts about sex, racism, and hate speech.
