The time has come for Cupertino's computers to get an upgrade, with the new Apple M3 Silicon chip coming this October after the M2 cycle wrapped up.
Many expect this upgrade from the renowned tech company to arrive, which includes the latest computer processor to bring the fastest processes it has delivered from its house-designed chip.
Apple M3 Macs Are Coming This October, According to an Analyst
The latest Bloomberg Power On Newsletter from Mark Gurman is now confirming the arrival of the new Mac computers from Apple this October equipped with the latest M3 chips.
Speculators and analysts had different speculations on the next-in-line processor, including that it is coming out this year. Apple's M3 chip is expected to be a 3nm node process designed by the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), with a similar core count to the M2.
Apple is stepping up for its next-gen processors that will immediately come after it released the M2 Ultra and Pro versions released several months ago.
According to Gurman, there would still be an M3 coming but would see device releases apart from each other, unlike an all-out drop from before.
What Macs Are Getting the M3 Upgrade?
According to 9to5 Mac, Apple is set to release a new M3 iMac, M3 13-inch MacBook Air, and M3 MacBook Pro. Gurman said these are the first beneficiaries of the new chip.
The 9to5 Mac reported that new iPad Pro models featuring OLED displays are scheduled for next year. However, Gurman noted that an iPad Air model with an updated chip might be ready this fall, and this is because an M1 chip still powers the current-generation iPad Air.
Apple's M3 Expectations
One of the earliest news behind the M3 arrival is the MacBook Air 2023 release, which features a larger, 15-inch screen for the lightweight computer. However, Apple revealed earlier in the WWDC 2023 that the 15-inch MacBook Air is getting the current-gen processor, the M2, instead of formally introducing the new M3.
Still, many are hoping, as there is still the fall release window when new Macs are expected. Another device speculated to bring the M3 chip is the new iMac which will finally get an upgraded chip this year.
Since 2021's M1 change of the iMac from its Intel processors, the company has yet to bring an upgraded version of the all-in-one desktop, with many expecting that it will get the M2 in the last year but did not arrive from Apple's set of releases.
Gurman is now talking about the possibility of another fall season release of the new Apple computers, finally getting the upgraded Silicon-based processor from the company.
This latest speculation claims a new series of releases this October, intended for the iMac, and the 13-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, with its next-gen M3 processors.
