The next-generation chip from Apple, the M3, is a highly-speculated processor to arrive soon, and this is what the public awaits from the Cupertino giant to follow up on last year's release. Speculated along the M3's release are the new devices that will equip it including new MacBook Pros, an updated iMac, and refreshed iPads.
Since the release of 2020's M1, the Silicon-based chips from Apple have gained quite a fame among enthusiasts and fans, centering on a significant performance on a more affordable overall price.
Are M3 Macs Coming? Apple Expected to Release New Tech Soon
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman claimed that Apple is set to release as many as a dozen devices soon, and these new techs have something to do with the upcoming M3 Silicon chip. There is a lot to expect from the company says Gurman, and the releases would be spread out over the next 12 months from now.
The reporter claimed that there would be a release this year, but did not specify on which device from the company. Moreover, some are coming by the early half of 2024, also giving us no clue on which devices.
What to Expect from the New M3 Silicon Chips
According to CNET's report, Gurman expects that Apple would update the MacBook Pro, including all of its sizes from the 13-inch, to the 14-inch, and down to the 16-inch.
Moreover, the report claimed that Apple would finally update the iMac desktop with the M3 chip after its last update from Intel to the M1.
There are also some new updates to expect from the iPad Pro lineup, also known for being equipped with the M-series chip, with this next-gen update featuring the latest powerful chips from Apple.
Expectations for Apple's upcoming releases are piling up, and its not-so-regular releases of the Mac devices give speculators a hard time pinpointing when the expected release would be. Still, this is a significant development to Apple's computer lineup, including the anticipated M3 chip to power it soon.
Apple's M-Series Chips
Many people expected that the latest MacBook Air which saw an expanded 15 inches in size, would bear the latest Apple M-series chip from the company. However, as WWDC revealed to the world, it only got the current-gen processor from the company, with the M2 powering the device, and not even the M2 Ultra or the M2 Pro.
Still, it is a chip worth waiting for as it would feature the top specs from the company, with earlier reports centering on how powerful this processor would be. It was regarded that the base version of the chipset would feature a 12-core CPU and an 18-core GPU, and users with the extra dough may have a chance to expand the memory to as much as 36 GB.
The M3 was said to be under testing from Apple already, but there is yet to be known to the public, especially with official specs or information regarding the device. It was said that in around 12 months, there should be new devices to anticipate which bear the 3nm Silicon-based processor, including new MacBook Pros, iPads, and iMacs.
