A new leak about rappers Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage appearing in the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2," and "Call of Duty: Warzone 2" games is circling in the online world right now.
These two stars were rumored to become skins in these first-person shooter games. Both "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2," and "Call of Duty: Warzone 2" started their crossover trend earlier this year, with internet celebs NICKMERCS and TimTheTatman the first to get skins in these games.
But their skins were removed after a couple of weeks. The skin of NICKMERCS was removed after some controversy with the Twitch streamer. TimTheTatman then asked his skin to be also removed from the game in solidary with NICKMERCS.
'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2' and 'Call of Duty: Warzone 2' Leaks: Nicki Minaj, 21 Savage Skins
The rumor came from a leaker named HeyImAlaix, who tweeted a piece of information regarding the two upcoming skins in the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2," and "Call of Duty: Warzone 2."
Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage were rumored to join the game in season 5, which is expected to begin in about a month. Nothing has been confirmed right now.
ComicBook Gaming reported that Call of Duty had a bunch of wild crossovers in the past years, starting in 2020 when "Call of Duty: Warzone" was released.
Ahead of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's release last year, Minaj was featured in the game's marketing. Thus, there is a possibility that this has been planned for a while.
Earlier this year, the game already got NBA star and Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant as an addition to Call of Duty's Season 3 Reloaded skins.
Adding Two Rappers to 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2,' and 'Call of Duty: Warzone 2' Skin Rosters
Of course, this leak has met doubts and questions from gamers, with one stating that there is a possibility that these two rappers would arrive in the games, but only their music to be added to Season 5's war tracks. However, HeyImAlaix reaffirmed that Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage are surely coming in as operators.
Call of Duty's Skins and Special Offers
Activision Blizzard and Infinity Ward have worked very long to develop content that brings different experiences to gamers. "Call of Duty" is known for getting real-life people and fictional characters as skins, like the characters from the satirical superhero Amazon Prime series "The Boys" and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' famous villain, Shredder.
However, these skins and other special offers from "Call of Duty" were criticized since they are part of a pay-to-win scheme. These new pay-to-win items can be bought directly from its shop, bringing special effects or boost for those buying them but giving unfair advantages to those who do not have money to spare.
