The famous first-person action shooter game is set to bring a new title to the public this year under the COD franchise, and leaks claim that this next title would be a remake of "Modern Warfare 3." As per the initial information, it is yet again another remake/reboot from Activision Blizzard that will follow the footsteps of its successful release of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" last year.
Call of Duty is about to get bigger in this release, should the leaks be accurate, with the sequel and top-rated game allegedly coming soon.
COD's Next Release is 'Modern Warfare 3' says Leaks
A new leak from a renowned and anonymous Twitter account, CoD_Perseus, is now making headlines after claiming that the next release from Activision Blizzard and Infinity Ward this year would be Modern Warfare 3.
CoD_Perseus said that this leak came from the TIDL Discord channel, with the leaker revealing various information pointing towards the next release of the franchise.
While the leaker did not talk much about the upcoming game, many have deciphered the information to be pointing towards "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's" remake.
Additionally, there are no further details as to why the developers and publishers chose MW3 as their next release, centering on another remake of an old game for modern gaming platforms.
Two Iconic Multiplayer Maps Also Coming
In the supplemental tweet from CoD_Perseus, the leaker revealed the two iconic multiplayer maps which will appear in the new game, and those familiar with Modern Warfare 3 would recognize that it was indeed from the old sequel title.
The said iconic maps are Terminal and Scrapyard, and what made this leak closer to reality is that the images were already remastered, hinting MW3 to be the next release.
For now, take this leak with a grain of salt as nothing is yet confirmed by Activision Blizzard or Infinity Ward for its 2023 release.
Call of Duty and its Games
A lot has happened with Activision Blizzard in the past months, and it included several issues with the FTC and other regulators for its deal with Microsoft, as well as creators who are caught in online issues. Still, it was previously said that 2023's Call of Duty release would be a premium one and be different from the others, claims initial speculations.
The new game will follow the last year's remake of Modern Warfare 2, and it is regarded as a successful release of the game which captured the essence of the 2009 game. The following game will center on the 2011 release from Activision Blizzard known as MW3, also developed by Infinity Ward in collaboration with Sledgehammer Games.
It is unknown if Sledgehammer would return to help Infinity Ward with their development of the upcoming Modern Warfare 3 which is the next leaked game of the franchise. The recent information came from a trusted leaker and many are believing his revelations for the next title to arrive, despite many asking for a new game from the developers.
