Apple is preparing to release the official version of iOS 16.5 next week. Before the public launch of this operating system, the Cupertino tech firm conducted a series of beta testing that lasted for more than a month.
Ahead of WWDC in June, here are the changes you need to for the upcoming iOS 16.5 see before iOS 17 arrives.
iOS 16.5 Pride Celebration Wallpaper
According to 9to5Mac, the latest iOS version boasts several features along with significant fixes for some glitches.
The selling point of the update is the "Price Celebration" wallpaper which shows Apple's solid support to the LGBTQ+ community. Having said that, this goes well with Apple Watch's Price Sport Band and even the Pride-themed watch face.
iOS 16.5 Sports-Related Features
Aside from the Pride Celebration-styled wallpaper and watch face, Apple also introduced another interesting feature to the News App.
With the "Sports" tab, sports enthusiasts can easily access the scores, updated standings, and even the drama behind a match. With this, you can follow your favorite teams and leagues with no problem or any extra sign-ups.
Moreover, the My Sports score and schedule cards are important parts of the iOS 16.5 update for those who want to further know how the game went by.
iOS 16.5 Bug Fixes
For iPhone users who find Spotlight annoying, the iPad maker has finally fixed the issue where it becomes unresponsive. Additionally, the company also solved the problem with CarPlay Podcasts not loading anything even if a user has already played them.
Another bug that has received a fix is the Screen Time glitch where users complained that the system settings are not synced across multiple devices.
Apple did not specifically mention the date of iOS 16.5's release, but based on the pattern, it could likely fall on Tuesday, May 16 at 1 PM ET.

Complaints About iOS 16.4.1 (a) Update
While iOS 16.5 is praised by sports fans and LGBTQ+ members, iOS 16.4.1 (a) was not well-received by the crowd. Following several complaints on Twitter, iPhone users said that this update only caused problems to their iPhones by draining their batteries, per Daily Mail.
Upon downloading the software update, some users noticed that their iPhone battery easily plummeted from 50% to 20% in less than an hour. Some also believed that it was all because of overheating issues on their smartphones.
Meanwhile, MacRumors reported this week that iPhone 15 Pro will highlight a major update for the handset's battery life. This huge improvement is attributed to the A17 Bionic processor.
For what it's worth, Apple sticks to its mantra that every iPhone release should come with an improved chip. The regular iPhone 15 and the Pro models could likely hit shelves in the fall of 2023.
Elsewhere, a questionable rumor about iOS 17 made other people believe that it would boast upgrades for Apple Maps including lock screen designs and "Live Activity."
