Apple ID System Down for Some Users, Backend Sees Error for Requests

Is Your iCloud or Apple Pay down today?

Apple users noticed that they couldn't log in to their Apple ID system. Some reported that the system is too slow to the point that it becomes "unavailable" for some.

While the error persists to happen up to this time, many people voiced out their frustration in using Apple Pay and other Apple apps.

Apple ID Services Down at the Moment

According to a report by 9to5Mac on Thursday, May 11, some users said that they typed their passwords correctly to sign in to their Apple ID, only to find out that they could not log in.

At first, they thought that their password was just wrong, but on the second try, they noticed that it was right and that it was an error in Apple's system.

"Is Apple down? It requires me to sign in, but when I enter my password, it says 'Verification Failed.' I even tried to change my password on Apple's website, but when I enter my Apple ID it says, 'We cannot process your request. Please try again later," Apple user Denize Marilyn said on Twitter via iNews.

Because of the inability to access the Apple ID services, some assumed that their accounts were hacked by bad actors even before the outage happened.

9to5Mac also tested out if the password would push through. It turns out that this is an Apple ID issue that remains unaddressed at the time.

The publication adds that despite inputting both the email and password, the system cannot process its request, maybe because of a glitch.

In the same report, the Weather app is also down, along with other Apple apps. The last time that the weather tracking app did not work was only earlier this week.

Currently, Apple has not yet found a solution to the sudden downtime. We can only hope that the engineers will fix the problem with the Apple ID services as soon as possible.

Apple Pay and iCloud Not Working

In another article by The Sun, UK residents noticed that an unexpected downtime hit iCloud before 9 AM UK time.

Some users complained that Apple Pay was also not working even after several attempts. One Twitter user said that she could not use the app to contact an Uber driver for an airport trip.

Another person commented that she couldn't log in to iCloud, and this had never happened before. A small number of users also complained that they could not access the App Store to play games and install apps.

The Sun says that the majority of the affected users of the recent Apple ID service outage came from India, Canada, the Philippines, Japan, New Zealand, and the UK.
