Capcom has announced that it will release a free playable demo for Street Fighter 6 on April 26, ahead of the game's launch on June 2, reported first by Engadget.
The demo will be available on both PS5 and PS4 consoles, allowing players to create an avatar and play the first part of the World Tour mode.
First Four Playable Characters
Street Fighter 6 is the latest entry in the popular fighting game franchise, and Capcom has been teasing fans with details about the upcoming release.
In addition to the playable demo, the developer has also revealed the first four playable characters for the game's first year: Rashid (summer 2023), A.K.I. (autumn - 2023), Akuma (spring 2024), and Ed (winter 2024).
The game will be available on multiple platforms, including the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It will feature fan-favorite characters like Ryu and Chun-Li, as well as a new character called Luke, who was introduced in Street Fighter V.
Capcom has described Luke as a "key player in the future of Street Fighter" and has promised that he will help expand the game's world.
The playable demo will give fans a chance to get a feel for the game ahead of its release, with a variety of game modes and features included. The demo will offer a one-on-one fighting mode, an extreme battle mode, and a tutorial mode for beginners.
Players will also be able to create their own avatar and explore the game's World Tour mode, which allows them to level up their avatar and interact with famous characters from Street Fighter and Capcom lore.
How to play?
It is important to note that the demo version will not include any online features or the Battle Hub mode. Some menu features will also be restricted in the demo. Players need at least 25GB of storage on their PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, or PC to play the demo.
To create an avatar in the demo version, players will need to ensure that they do not delete their saved data, as it will be required to transfer the avatar to the full version of the game.
If saved data is deleted, the avatar cannot be transferred. Additionally, players who wish to play online in the full version of the game will need to register for a CAPCOM ID and create a platform link before playing.
Capcom has promised that Street Fighter 6 will offer an exciting and immersive experience for fans of the franchise. With the upcoming release of the playable demo, fans will have a chance to experience some of the game's features ahead of its official launch.
It is sure to be a highly anticipated release, and fans will undoubtedly be looking forward to getting their hands on the full version of the game when it is released on June 2.
