This is why the iPhone maker decided to open its first India-based store.
Although it is not the main market for gadget developers, Apple's presence in India has been there for the past 25 years.
"India has such a beautiful culture and an incredible energy, and we're excited to build on our long-standing history," said Apple CEO Tim Cook.
In February, Cook said that he sees India as a key market for Apple's growth.
In 2022, Apple was able to ship over six million iPhones in India. This is quite low compared to the 50 million iPhone shipments in the United States during that year.
However, Neil Shah, a partner at Counterpoint Research, claimed that India has the potential to reach the iPhone shipment scale in the United States.

During the first day opening of Apple BKC, more than 100 team members of the India-based store welcomed their first visitors.
On Apple's official website, you can see numerous photos showing the success of the opening. Images of customers testing the new iPhone 14 series can be seen.
Tim Cook also visited the store during its opening. Since Apple BKC's opening is successful, the tech giant firm plans to open another store in Delhi.
