This detail was shared by Ming-Chi Kuo, a reliable Apple analyst, in his latest prediction.

Based on his official blog post, Kuo is pretty sure that the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the first iOS smartphone to feature the most-awaited periscope lens.

The TF International Securities market analyst even shared other predictions, such as supply risks that Largan could experience.

Largan to Supply iPhone 15 Pro Max Periscope Camera Lens?

According to MacRumors' latest report, Kuo recently claimed that the iPhone 14 Pro would be the first Apple smartphone to have the periscope feature.

However, this didn't happen. After that, the Apple enthusiast shifted his prediction to the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Other Apple analysts, such as Jeff Pu, also have the same prediction.

If the latest prediction of Kuo comes true, then the periscope camera lens feature will give the iPhone 15 Pro Max a huge advantage over other camera smartphones.

For those who are not familiar with the periscope, it is a camera tech that can offer zoomed-in photos without any blurriness.

Kuo's Other Periscope Predictions

Aside from Largan being the sole supplier of the iPhone 15 Pro Max's periscope camera lens, Kuo said that the supplier for the device's successor, iPhone 16, could change in the future.

The Apple enthusiast explained that the ASP (average selling price) for Largan's periscope camera lenses is only $4.

This is cheaper compared to the market consensus of around $4.5 or higher.

"It is worth noting that the price of USD 4 means that Largan cannot profit from the periscope camera lens," said Kuo.

Because of this, he believes that Genius, another camera lens company, will be the one to supply the periscope camera lens for the iPhone 16.
