At some point, all of us get annoyed with auto playing videos in the background that are draining the battery life of your device. With Telegram's latest update, you can now say goodbye to these apps and effects.

According to a report by TechCrunch, the new feature instantly switches off background updates, GIFs, sticker animations, and videos that are running on the display.

This is currently accessible in the Settings where you can discover that you can actually tick off auto-play options for the videos and updates.

You also have the option to permanently disable them so you can preserve some battery for your device.

Other than that, Telegram says that it is able to create "optimized default settings" for more than 200 Android devices.

Telegram Drops Granular Playback Speed Update

Fone Arena reports that Telegram also brings a new update to achieve your desired granular playback speed. To do this, you can simply hold the 2x button and choose the speed of your choice ranging from 0.2x to 2.5x.

If you want to adjust the speed, you can simply head to the Menu of your smartphone and click "Playback Speed." Adjust the slider accordingly after.

Read Receipts and Auto-Send Invite Links

The new Power-Saving mode and granular playback speed adjustment are not the only new features that are coming for Telegram update version 9.5.

In another article by Android Police, the messaging platform will also launch the ability to read receipts from a conversation.

With that being said, each of you in a group chat of up 100 participants can now know who views the message. The timestamp for the read receipts will also show up thanks to the update.

Unfortunately, the read receipts feature is not available in bigger circles of users. You cannot possibly see the users who read the messages once the group exceeds 100 people.

Telegram is also allowing users to automatically send invite links as texts. If you want to have control over someone who adds you to another group, simply go to Settings and tap Security Groups and Channels.

Apart from that, Dynamic Order feature for Sticker Packs, improved iOS folder support, translation of bot descriptions, and new emojis and reactions are also parts of the latest update in Telegram.
