Tesla, the Elon Musk-led electric vehicle (EV) maker, unveiled its all-new Unlimited Overnight Charging Plan during its "Investor Day 2023."
Tesla's Unlimited Overnight Charging
As per a report by Electrek, the giant EV maker took the opportunity to announce the upcoming expansion of Tesla Electric. Besides offering renewable energy to Powerwall owners, the tech firm is now looking to also charge EVs in Texas overnight in the comfort of the homes of its users.
The senior vice president of engineering of Tesla, Drew Baglino, says that the new Unlimited Overnight Charging only costs $30 per month.
The Tesla exec further notes that it will be available starting this summer.
Baglino says that "by this summer, we are going to offer retail electricity plans to people who have our cars where they can have unlimited overnight home charging."
He adds that the Unlimited Overnight Charging "is part of reducing the total cost of ownership of our vehicles."
The SVP for engineering goes on to disclose that "the reason why we can do this is that Texas has a ton of wind. And in Texas, the wind blows at night."

How Does the Charging Plan Work
Tesla EV owners in Texas can get their hands on the Unlimited Overnight Charging Plan by spending an additional $30 per month.
It should let electric car users charge the batteries of their vehicles overnight without worrying about any additional expenses.
Essentially, Tesla says that it could provide such a service as there is a surplus of power during nighttime as the overall demand lessens. Not to mention that Texas naturally has strong winds even in the evening.
The new plan provides unlimited charging to its users for only $30 monthly. It works like most subscription services like Twitter Blue or Netflix. Its users only have to pay an affordable fee per month to use it.
Slash Gear notes in its report that the new unlimited charging plan of the Musk-led automaker essentially encourages EV owners to plug their cars at night using renewable energy.
The EV maker disclosed that its upcoming charging plan is seeing the light of day this July. So it might not take long before you may get your hands on it.
Meanwhile, Electrek highlights that the affordable option to charge EVs during nighttime should help reduce usage during peak hours.
In the same event, the giant automaker also gave a glimpse at the new Tesla Cybertruck Prototype, showcasing its additional features.
