Once again, Tesla's vital Full Self-Driving Beta v11 software update is delayed, as reported by Electrek.
It seems that Tesla is having trouble shipping the update. The FSD Beta will allow Tesla vehicles to drive autonomously to a destination entered in the vehicle's navigation system. However, the driver must always be vigilant and ready to take control.
That said, the responsibility still rests with the driver, which is why it is still considered a level two drover-assist system.
Software Updates
The automaker has been releasing new software updates to the FSD Beta program and adding more owners. There are over 400,000 Tesla owners in the program in North America. Still, many of these owners still need to receive significant FSD beta updates on Tesla.
The automaker was supposed to release v11 to the fleet in November 2022, but it has been stuck in testing within their closed fleet since then.
An Important Update
The update is crucial to the system because it has many neural networks. Additionally, it is expected to merge Tesla's FSD Beta software stack, mainly used on roads and city streets, with Tesla's Autopilot software stack, which is used as a level 2 driver assist system on highways.

A Limited Beta?
Recently, Elon Musk said that the v11 was coming last week, but it didn't. Musk said it is coming this week, but it will be in a limited beta before wide release in North America. He said that after that, they would adapt for Eu roads and submit to regulators.
Generally, the update will be pushed to choose only a few early beta testers.
Musk also admitted that the update was much more complicated than expected. He blamed the re-architecture of neural nets as well.
Despite Musk's comments on the update, it remains to be seen what's taking it too long to release. It should also be noted that the 400,000 Tesla owners with FSD Beta last saw significant improvements a while ago.
In other news, earlier this month, the 2023 Tesla Model 3 was found detecting distances without ultrasonic sensors. It was discovered during test drives in Poland and was noticed by a prospective owner.
Tesla replaces demo vehicles every three months, which means the vehicle wouldn't have ultrasonic sensors. It has happened before. It can be recalled that a 2018 Tesla Model 3 can also detect distances without USS.
With this, an update to display distances to close-by objects may arrive soon.
