The highly-awaited decentralized social media platform from Jack Dorsey, Bluesky, recently made its way to the Apple App Store, now available for everyone to download. This is similar to what Twitter offers and is highly regarded as its competitor in the current platforms available, but this takes it up a notch as it is a decentralized version.
Twitter is not exactly thriving as it was turned over to Elon Musk, and it is more than a year since Dorsey stepped down as its CEO and left the company altogether.
Bluesky from Jack Dorsey is Now Available on the App Store
The Apple App Store already shows Bluesky Social to be available to download for all iOS users on the mobile platform, and it only means that it is expanding its reach to a new audience. This also suggests that it is moving further into its beta testing phase to make it soon available for wider public access to the latest social media in the industry.
It is widely known that Bluesky was formed by former Twitter founder Jack Dorsey when he left the platform to work on a decentralized experience online.
Still, there is limited information about what people may experience on Bluesky, as its website does not divulge much, apart from the newsletter sign-up for its updates and further progression.

Wait, There is a Catch on Bluesky for New Users
Yes, you may now download the latest social media platform in town, but there is a catch for new users trying to sign-up for Bluesky's services.
For now, it is only available to those with an invitation link, which people could get from people already in the app, and most are from the company, developers, and beta testers.
It is yet unknown when Bluesky will open its doors to a massive number of users, as it is still in beta, with no announcements yet from its creator.
Twitter, Its Competitors, and Bluesky
Back in May 2022, it was first thought that Bluesky was a collaboration between Jack Dorsey and Elon Musk to deliver a new experience on social media, one that centers on a decentralized platform. However, there were other plans for Musk as he focused on acquiring Twitter while Dorsey ventured towards creating a new platform.
Bluesky already opened its beta testing for the new social media platform back when Musk acquired Twitter late last October. It was a surprising turn of events for the former founder.
It seems that, as of this moment, there would be significant competition from Dorsey's former company and his new one, both of which have similar looks and themes but differ in terms of the setup.
Going decentralized means that it would not be controlled by one single entity, and this is what Dorsey's Twitter was before he changed it into a centralized service. Bluesky aims to do better than Twitter, especially now that the famous short-word social media is facing boycotts due to Musk's leadership and policies, but access to the new platform may still be limited.
