Tesla's alleged keystroke monitoring practice disappoints many Autopilot employees.
Because of this, the automaker's workers decided to email Elon Musk regarding this workplace issue.
Tesla Autopilot data encoders warned the billionaire that they will make an official unionization.
"People are tired of being treated like robots," said Al Celli, one of the union organizers, via Bloomberg.
Tesla's Alleged Keystroke Monitoring
According to Business Insider's latest report, Tesla employees in New York claimed that they are being tracked by the automaker through their keystrokes.
They added that Tesla is doing this just to ensure that they are being productive every day.
Although the EV maker pays its employees per hour, the keystroke monitoring practice makes employees feel like robots.
This is not the first time that Tesla is accused of conducting workplace monitoring activities. In 2022, the automaker's staff also complained that they were being tracked using an automated system for time-in and time-out.
For Tesla and other giant tech companies, monitoring their employees is a good thing. But, this activity affects workers mentally.
This is because they may feel that the company is invading their privacy. You can visit Time Doctor's report to see other negative effects of work monitoring practices.
What Tesla Employees Want
Tesla employees in New York said that they want the automaker to reduce production pressures since their health are being affected.
This is because those who are aware of the Tesla's monitoring practices tend to avoid bathroom breaks.
Aside from this, workers also asks the EV maker to offer better pay and job security.
As of press time, Elon Musk and Tesla haven't responded to the complaints of their employees.
But, they need to soon since Tesla workers are planning to create a unionization campaign. If ever this become official, it would be the first union for Tesla.
