Twitter fans can get a chance to get an espresso machine used by the social platform's employees through a sale from its San Francisco headquarters, as reported by Strait Times.
The espresso machine will be on the 27-hour online auction organized by Heritage Global Partners.
Another Sign of Upheaval
Currently, there are 631 lots of surplus corporate office assets. There are also some designer chairs, coffee machines, iMacs, and stationary bike stations. Most of the items had starting bids of $25.
The neon Twitter logo has gotten 64 bids so far, valued at $17,500, while the bird statue had 55 bids that pushed the price to $16,000. On the other hand, the @ sculpture had gotten 52 bids for a $4,100 value.
According to the organizers, the online auction isn't meant to boost the finances of the social media company. Still, more cash is likely coming to Elon Musk with the sales from the auction.
It is known that Musk is trying to cut costs at the company and even failed to pay rent for another San Francisco address, which turned into a lawsuit.
Other offices, including the ones in Asia, have been asked to clear the offices and work from home instead.
What's Going On?
Twitter has had a hard time attracting advertisers. It is very unfortunate for the social media platform since it has the biggest user base compared to others.
The online auction is just one more sign of how much Twitter is trying to change for good. The question is if these changes would be able to pull through.
Twitter's stock dropped significantly in 2022 after its earnings report that it failed to convince investors that it would be able to generate more cash soon.
As of now, the chances of Twitter's comeback are quite uncertain, even with the ongoing changes made by the company.
What's Next for Twitter?
Twitter surely needs to do more than just the online auction and try to come up with innovative ideas that would be able to engage its users.
If the company can develop new features that would give its users a better experience, it would likely be able to improve its standing in the market.
In any case, Twitter would still have to come up with a solution that would be able to stop the exodus of users and improve its numbers.
While it isn't certain if the auction will be able to help Twitter, the online auction will at least be able to draw some attention to the social network.
Twitter is currently in a very confusing position. With its users getting lesser by the day, it is clear that the company needs to do something to improve its numbers.
