Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup could likely be trimmed down to only two options, the entry-level S24, and the S24 Ultra, dropping the "Plus" variant.
Amid the disappointing sales of the Apple iPhone 14 Plus, Samsung is reportedly planning to ditch its similar offering for its next-generation flagship.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Lineup to Skip 'Plus' Option
As per a recent report by Notebook Check, a South Korean news outfit, The Elec, reports that Samsung is planning to scrap the Galaxy S24 Plus. And instead, the upcoming flagship series would most likely only include two offerings, the S24, and the S24 Ultra.
The Korean website claims that the giant phone maker is currently working on only two devices, named DM1 and DM3. These two are supposedly the standard S24 and the higher-end S24 Ultra.
On the other hand, it looks like the South Korean tech firm abandoned the DM2 project, which presumably should have been the S24 Plus or S24+.
Given that, The Elec assumes that Samsung is currently looking to release only two devices for its S24 series. However, this might not be final just yet.
According to a news story by GSM Arena, Samsung could potentially "re-introduce" the DM2 as the production of its upcoming flagship series nears.
After all, the renowned tech firm is still gearing up for the debut of its S23 lineup. So the production of its next-generation device might still take a couple of months. In that period, the market might still see some significant changes that might revise plans of Samsung moving forward.
It might entirely depend on the sales performance of the all-new Galaxy S23 Plus.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus, iPhone 14 Plus Dismal Sales
Notebook Check notes in its story that the sales of the Galaxy S22 Plus and iPhone 14 Plus show that consumers are not that hyped for Plus-sized devices.
Samsung reportedly sold only 5.5 million S22 Plus, which is only 17 percent of the total sales. Meanwhile, the Ultra and standard S22, took 45 percent and 38 percent of the overall sales, respectively.
For the iPhone 14 series, Appel only sold 5.5 million units of the iPhone 14 Plus, which is equal to roughly 7 percent of the total sales. The best-selling variants are the entry-level iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Pro. The iPhone 14 Pro Max is also widely popular.
