Going All-Electric
VinFast is on a mission to transition from ICE vehicles to all-electric. In addition, the VF 6 and VF 7 aims to target young customers, which are traditionally more interested in EVs due to their benefits of the latest tech and lower running costs.
The Appeal of EVs to the Younger Market
The appeal of EVs to the younger market is growing at a fast pace. Some of the more popular all-electric models include the BMW i3, the Chevrolet Bolt, and the Nissan Leaf.
The growing number of EVs will also help to reduce their prices and increase their range. As it stands, EVs are still much more expensive than their ICE counterparts. Yet, the next few years will most likely see a lot more breakthroughs in the industry that should bring the price of EVs down.
Not to mention, the range of EVs will also drastically increase in that same time frame as well. Just take a look at Tesla's Model S, which has a range of 335 miles. The next few years should see the introduction of EVs with close to 600 miles of range.
Moreover, the launch of the next generation of EVs should also see a boom in the charging infrastructure. Quicker chargers will be the first to be installed, followed by the introduction of faster level 3 chargers.
In the coming years, we can expect to see more automakers like VinFast take the leap into the EV market. It makes sense for them to do so as they need to compete with other automakers to sell more vehicles.
In addition, younger customers are more accustomed to the latest tech, which means that EVs are more appealing to them compared to their older counterparts. By launching more EVs, it will help to spread awareness of EVs to the younger market and hopefully get them to buy an EV.
