There are already a lot of buzz on Google's new Pixel smartphone for this year, and it is not for the Pixel 8, but rather the expanding screen device rumored to arrive soon, the Pixel Fold. However, several online reports claim that the Pixel Fold is coming sometime later this year, or extending to the following year after this one.
The famed internet company saw massive rumors for its foldable development, despite having not much to give to speculators and leakers regarding this venture.
Google Pixel Fold: When is It Coming?
ETNews reported that Google already has a timeline for the Pixel Fold, and this year will focus on starting the device's production by Q3 2023.
It is rather late for the device to its production, and the report suggests that it will arrive later by 2024.
However, there is also a possibility for its arrival by late Q4, but that is something that Google can answer for the world.
Reports claim that it will launch alongside the Pixel Tablet and that Google will unveil it on its May annual showcase, the I/O.
Still, these are mere speculations and leaks from different online sources and should be taken with a grain of salt.
What to Expect on the Pixel Fold
According to 9to5 Google, the Pixel Fold will be reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold with a 7.57-inch display when unfolded, and a 5.78-inch screen when stowed.
Pixel Fold will get its screen from Samsung Display, complete with what a foldable needs, including its ultra-thin glass cover. Moreover, it is expected to market at $1,799, matching the Samsung Z Fold price.
Google and its Pixel
Google has massive plans for its Pixel devices, and for now, it centers on the smartphone as its main technology, with many accessories available like the Pixel Buds and Pixel Watch. In a previous spotting of Google's Pixel Roadmap, there are upcoming devices soon to unveil to the world, and it centers on its goals to rival the iPhone Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip devices.
There are leaks about Google's Pixel Fold and what to expect of it in the future, with many claims that it is similar to what the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series offers the world. It means that it will be a vertical folding smartphone that folds in half lengthwise and not a clamshell-like foldable like the Z Flip and Motorola RAZR devices.
With Google's Pixel 7 being the latest device from the company, the expectation from the Santa Monica tech giant is to continue the lineup with the Pixel 8. However, as the leaks have pointed out, there is an upcoming device from Google that will center on expanding screens, one that would start production later this year, and arrive later on.
