So it turns out that the hit Bandai Namco fighter game has already sold millions of copies in various parts of the world.
But how about the entire "Tekken" series? It sure is more than the 10 million mark.
'Tekken 7' Sales Hit 10 Million Mark
As per the latest news story by PC Gamer, no less than the "Tekken 7" game director announced that the fighter title has already sold more than 10 million copies.
Harada went on to thank the fans and players of the game for their "continued support." If not for them, the game would not even reached its latest milestone.
While the "Tekken 7" sales figures were quite impressive, PC Gamer notes that it is still far from its rival fighting game.
It is worth noting that the Super Smash Bro. Ultimate remains second to none in sales. The Nintendo fighter game remains to be the best-selling fighter game. In fact, it has already sold roughly 30 million copies worldwide.
Given that, "Tekken 7" is still far from being the best-selling fighter game. But it sure holds a lot of players. Ten million is no small feat for game sales. There are hundreds of titles out there that have never reached that mark.
It has sold millions of copies on various platforms, including the Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
How About the 'Tekken' Series Sales?
Thanks to the new milestone of the 'Tekken 7,' the overall sales of the fighter series achieved over 54 million sales worldwide.
The series includes several "Tekken" titles through the years, such as the first-ever "Tekken" game, the "Tekken: Dark Resurrection," and the "Tekken Tag Tournament."
Harada, who goes by the username "Harada_TEKKEN," tweets that the entire series "recorded over 54 million copies sales.
PC Gamer notes in its report that the announcement includes an art photo, wherein the cast of the game are sporting their formal wear. With that, it looks like they are celebrating their new milestone.
'Tekken 8' at The Game Awards 2022
The current sales of the series might see more copies soon enough.
According to a report by Polygon, Bandai Namco teased the upcoming installment in the series, "Tekken 8," during The Game Awards 2022.
The new fighter day is on its way to various gaming platforms, including Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 (PS5), and PCs.
