Tekken 8 has officially been revealed with a newly released trailer, reported first by IGN. It was launched during the Sony State of Play as it will be available on PlayStation 5. The report confirmed that it will also be available for Xbox Series and PC through Steam.
As per Game Director Katsuhiro Harada, the trailer showcased footage rendered on PS5 and was not pre-rendered cinematic as it proves that the quality became better.
The trailer shows two characters facing off against each other, Kazuya and Jin, featuring dynamic waves, tornadoes, a huge tanker that is breaking apart, and a realistic storm in the background Watch here:
Harada also added that a lot of exciting content from Tekken 8 will be released soon. He stated, "For our first announcement, we chose to focus on the content that showcases the quality of this game on PS5," The game developers have been working hard to enhance the quality compared to the last series to improve the gamers' experience.
The Tekken series currently holds the record of the longest-running story in a video game. Based on the conclusion of Series 7, Tekken 8 will focus on the father and son showdown between Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama.
No release dates were revealed during the showcase as the game is still in development. Harada said the fans will be waiting a little longer for it to be available.
Early Tease in Evo 2022
A small teaser for the game was released at Evo 2022 last August by Bandai Namco Esports where a certain clip showed Kazuya smiling at the frame after he threw Heihachi on the edge of a cliff.
The teaser started with the original 1994 arcade graphics and transitioned to the modern design of the game as Kazuya smiles.
Along with the teaser are the announcements of free updates for Tekken 7 as adjustments have been implemented and the global finals for Tekken World Tour 2023 which will be held on February 4-5, 2023 in Amsterdam.
