Nothing, the company founded by former OnePlus founder, Carl Pei, will soon bring its smartphones available to the United States, according to the executive himself, after an interview regarding the device's future. However, Pei mentioned that the gadget's availability in the country would focus on future models and devices, with an upcoming "new smartphone" in the works.
Nothing Phone (1) is still one highly-regarded smartphone in the present, especially in countries where the device was released, but it seems like this device will not arrive on US shores.
Nothing Phone: US Availability for Future Models Soon
CNBC's interview with Carl Pei centers on the possibility of a United States release of the smartphones from his new startup company, Nothing. Pei is best known for co-founding OnePlus, and these devices are highly regarded for what they bring to the public, giving people another choice for an Android device for their technology needs.
In the interview, the Nothing CEO said that its company is already discussing the launch of its "new smartphone" with US carriers and telecommunications companies.
And this points to future models of Nothing Phones coming to the US. Pei did not discuss anything further regarding these new releases or successors of its current device.
Carl Pei and Nothing Will Not Release the Phone (1)
In this interview, it is speculated that Nothing will release the Phone (1) to the United States market, and the co-founder did not mention the reason for this decision. Nevertheless, future iterations of the company's engineering and technology will come to the country, and it will take on Big Tech's famous smartphones, the Apple iPhones, on its future arrival.
Nothing Phone and its Fame
Nothing's Phone (1) was released to the world last July, and it saw significant fame as it gave the public a new focus on smartphone technology, one that returns to the basics and aims to deliver only the essentials for the public. Since its initial release, Carl Pei and the company only intended for the smartphone to release in the United Kingdom and Europe.
Still, it saw a global release for the world to see the new smartphone, one that changes the way people use it with its cutting-edge design, as per the company.
The Nothing Phone (1) is still based on Google's open-sourced operating system, Android, but the company said that it took the system to the next level with the critically-acclaimed Nothing OS.
Still, the smartphone is young and has only released its first model for the world to see, and it is yet to withstand the test of time in its durability, reliability, and performance.
The United States may have gotten only a few units of the Nothing Phone (1) via the strict and limited beta testing of the smartphone in the country, but Carl Pei aims to deliver a new device soon. It is unknown when this device will arrive and if it will be the Nothing Phone (2), especially as the CEO and founder did not mention any details regarding the upcoming US release.
