'Overwatch 2' Players Discover Bug That Reduces Doomfist's Damage

An apparent head-on hit has no effect!

In Overwatch 2, gamers discover a major flaw that drastically reduces Doomfist's damage output and makes him a much inferior character. The bug was discovered days before the December 6th release of the second season.

Nevertheless, fans have been complaining about the character's decreased strength since the switch to Overwatch 2.

Doomfist

According to Game Rant, one of the most notable differences from the previous game is the smaller squad sizes and free-to-play business model implemented for the launch.

Doomfist was also shifted from the damage-dealing specific role to the defensive tank role. Because of this, his damage output has dropped drastically, and he has had to adjust his gear.

The enormous size of the character's iconic fist has long been symbolic of his formidable abilities. The transition to Tank, however, does not seem to reflect this increased confidence.

His bad performance has been attributed to a number of factors, but now one of them is being pinpointed.

Earlier this month, Tech Times reported that some Overwatch 2 players are complaining that they are being harassed because of the character Doomfist they choose to play.

Discovered Bug

While testing the Hero, Twitch broadcaster GetQuakedOn uncovered a critical flaw. A head-on hit on a character does no harm.

This is seen in a clip from GetQuakedOn showing the Seismic Slam hitting another Hero in a Critical Health state immediately. There was no deterioration in health status despite the direct strike.

The projected damage radius from GetQuakedOn has been shown.

Enemy Heroes are safe for the most part outside of the red area of the splash damage range. Unless, of course, they are standing in one of the two narrow corridors on each side of the projected damage cone.

The streamer had tweeted that they were expecting the attack to have flaws. They also claimed that the initial Overwatch version of Doomfist has over 40 problems.

While it is inevitable for there to be some glitches in every game, this is the kind of major glitch that may completely derail a playthrough or even a character.

Sadly, this is just one of many issues plaguing Overwatch 2.

Upcoming Patch

Doomfist, like the other Heroes, will likely undergo some modification in Season 2. Fixing the Seismic Slam and improving the effectiveness of Doomfist is, of course, a top priority.

However, in the aftermath of a new tank, Doomfist may be forgotten due to his present problems.

A "Tempo Tank," Ramattra will make his debut this season. He can easily switch between defensive and offensive roles, suggesting that he will dictate the pace of games. But Doomfist can not seem to get a handle on any of them.

Overwatch 2 may be downloaded at no cost on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox One S.
