The particular gaming laptop spotted by the article was the MSI GF63 Thin, an already-budget laptop from which gamers can choose. The original listing for the Walmart laptop was $599, but because of the Cyber Monday sale, it dropped its price to below $500.
The Cyber Monday Sale resulted in the MSI GF63 Thin drop by $150, down from $599 to just $449 on Walmart. This would allow buyers to spend the $150 they would have spent on the laptop elsewhere on games or accessories.

The thing about budget gaming laptops is that they are not the only thing that gamers need if they want to improve the overall experience. Gamers still have to factor in the price of actual games or at least the accessories they will use to play those games.
