Is your AirPods Pro still working even after a year of usage? If that's the case, you are truly taking care of your gadget. However, some users experience some issues using them, and if these are already past the warranty year, you can't replace them anymore.
Fortunately, Apple has a dedicated AirPods Pro Recall program for every earphone user. Despite its availability, not everyone is eligible for this free replacement, so if you want to know how to check its eligibility, here's everything you need to consider.
AirPods Pro Recall Program
For those unfamiliar with the AirPods Pro Recall Program, it's a special program launched by Apple to address the common concerns of earphone users.
The service aims to fix or replace the malfunctioning AirPods Pro that the Cupertino giant created before October 2020. The Teal Mango notes that only a few units are reportedly experiencing sound problems to date.
You are eligible for this program if you live in the US, the UK, Australia, and Canada. Apple extended this service for three years after the product was sold.
The previous coverage of the program is only up to two years after the purchase.
It should be noted that if the charging case of your AirPods Pro is not working, it won't be included in the replacement. It's only limited to the pair of earphones you bought at that time.
What Are the Issues You Need to Check
The first-gen AirPods Pro might have the following issues you can check to know if they are eligible for the replacement program.
- The increasing static sounds you hear when you use them.
- Malfunction ANC (active noise cancellation) feature. If you notice that the bass sound is slowly fading away, then it's definitely a problem to fix.
If you notice that all of these signs are present in your AirPods Pro, the first thing that you will do is chat with the Apple support team regarding your concern.
From the nearest Apple Store in your local area, you can start setting up an appointment for the program. You can also contact a reliable and authorized Apple Service Provider.
What If Your AirPods Are Not Eligible For the Program
9to5Mac said that if the program does not cover your AirPods, you can try these tricks to fix the problem on your earphones.
Carefully check the status of the battery of not only your AirPods but also the AirPods case. To see it thoroughly, pry the lid open beside the iPhone.
Another thing to do is double-check your iPhone's Bluetooth, especially when you forgot to switch it off. To check this, go to your device's Settings app, then Bluetooth. From here, toggle on it.
Additionally, regularly clean the mic grills and speakers of your earphones. If you still have no luck connecting your AirPods, the last trick you can try is resetting the earphones.
