At first, the concept handset looks like a normal smartphone. But, if you will look at its back, it has a ring-shaped camera module.
This feature acts as a lens adapter with a mount, which is compatible with the Leica M-series lenses.
Aside from this enhancement, Xiaomi integrated the 50MP Sony IMX989, a 1-inch sensor also used in the Sony Xperia PRO-1 and Sharp Aquos R6.

Can Xiaomi 12S Replace DSLRs Mirrorless Cams?
Recently, Sony said that smartphones might soon have the upper hand when it comes to photography.
The camera manufacturer believes smartphones and DSLRs have been moving in opposite directions.
Terushi Shimizu, the President and CEO of Sony Semiconductor, explained that smartphones' still images might exceed the photos captured by single-lens reflex cameras in the coming years.
But, The Wired explained why smartphones couldn't replace DSLRs and mirrorless cameras.
One of the main reasons is that these camera gadgets don't need to compromise their design to be portable.
In the case of smartphones, Apple and other gadget makers want to ensure that their devices are slimmer and easier to carry.
Aside from this, here are other reasons why DSLRs and mirrorless cams are still in the photography/videography game:
- DSLRs and mirrorless cameras still offer better grips, allowing professional photographers to snap photos easily.
- DSLRs and mirrorless cams have a wider range of lens options.
- DSLRs and mirrorless cams have features specifically for photography and videography.
While consumers are waiting for the new Xiaomi 12S, the Xiaomi Band 7 Pro's price dropped in Europe.
Just previously, the Xiaomi 13 Pro with a 120W fast charging feature is getting closer to its launch.
