US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, known by her initials AOC, said that her Twitter account had ceased functioning normally. This happened after she engaged in verbal sparring with Elon Musk, who had just acquired ownership of the platform.
On Thursday, November 3, the progressive politician claimed that Musk was somehow responsible for the problem, saying that she must have "gotten under a certain billionaire's skin."
The said issue on Twitter purportedly prevented her from receiving alerts, such as mentions from other users.

AOC's Reaction to Twitter's $8 Verified Status
In a report by the New York Post, Ocasio-Cortez is one of the numerous public personalities who have openly railed against Musk's idea to charge users $8 per month to keep their "blue check" badges on Twitter. Other prominent figures who have done so include Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Keith Ellison. The billionaire has made it clear that he will not deviate from the $8 per month pricing point.
Musk further enraged Ocasio-Cortez, a self-declared Social democrat, by publishing an image from the lawmaker's webshop. In the screenshot, the politician's name is printed on a "periwinkle supporter crew sweatshirt" that can be purchased for $58. Musk highlighted the price in red and included an emoji of a contemplating face.
In response, Ocasio-Cortez referred to Musk as a "union buster."
"My workers are union, have full healthcare + benefits like childcare help, and [everyone] is paid a living wage. Proceeds go to community acts like tutoring underserved kids," she stated in her tweet. "You're a union buster with an ego problem who pockets the change from underpaying and mistreating people."
Both Musk and Ocasio-Cortez have engaged in contentious exchanges with one another in the past. In May, Musk reacted to her tweet about "some billionaire with an ego problem" by jokingly responding, "Stop hitting on me, I'm really shy." She indicated that she wanted to get rid of her Tesla because of this encounter.
Looks Like Musk Does Not Budge
The New York Post reported that Musk and his team have determined that the most important thing for the firm right now is to revamp the Twitter Blue membership service completely. Earlier this week, the billionaire referred to the current verification features for Twitter as a "lords and peasants system."
A few days ago, a CNN reporter insulted the new Twitter CEO on his rules and updates for the platform by saying that Musk is like a child who uses the site like a toy.
Musk's only response was to tweet the $8 cost of his new verified membership. He also joked about the blue check verification on Twitter, stating that unlike a Starbucks Frappuccino, which costs the same but is gone in 30 minutes, the $8 charge would last for 30 days.
