In the words of DJ Khaled, it's "another one" for Ye
Four days after his return to the platform following a suspension for his antisemitic posts, Kanye West's Instagram account was restricted on Monday once again, a representative for Instagram's parent company Meta confirmed to Forbes, after posting a derogatory post about "Jewish business people."
According to Forbes' report, the Meta spokesperson said that Ye (West's legal name) violated some of Instagram's rules, hence, they had to delete the content he posted and restricted access to his account.
Meta did not disclose which post led to its decision on restricting the rapper's account. However, it noted that it imposes restrictions on those who consistently violate its rules, preventing them from posting, commenting, and sending messages.
Ye's Posts
A screenshot showed West texting someone named Russell on Sunday with the words, "I gotta get the Jewish business folks to make the contracts fair Or die trying." But the post is now missing as of writing.
Another sensitive post by West, which featured a picture of the dead Emmett Till's disfigured face following his lynching in 1955, was still viewable on Instagram but was flagged for having "graphic or violent material."
West claimed to be the victim of "digital lynching" and "economic lynching" in the caption of this image, criticizing Endeavor talent agency CEO Ari Emanuel, who was among the first to urge businesses to cut relations with West after he made antisemitic remarks.
This month, West has made numerous antisemitic remarks on Twitter, Instagram, and in interviews. He also shared false information concerning George Floyd's death, claiming that he died after using fentanyl. Floyd's family is now planning to sue the rapper.
Adidas, Gap, and Balenciaga, some of West's largest corporate partners, ended their business relationships with him as a result of his comments.
According to Forbes, West lost his billionaire title after parting ways with Adidas, the company that produced the Yeezy sneakers and was the main source of his wealth.
Is Ye Welcome on Musk's Twitter?
Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, previously offered West to use Twitter when he was suspended from Instagram. However, he was still in the process of completing his acquisition deal at the time.
But after posting an antisemitic Tweet, the rapper's access to Twitter was likewise restricted. Musk is now the new owner of Twitter and it is unknown if West will return to the platform under the billionaire's authority.
