'Pokemon Scarlet and Violet' Reveals Greavard, a Cute Dog Pokemon You Might Not Want to Pet

This good boy can absorb your life force in an instant.

The Pokemon Company has introduced another Pokemon from the upcoming "Pokemon Scarlet & Violet" game. The new creature to be added to the Pokedex is Greavard, a cute dog Pokemon who holds a ghost typing.

It may look adorable and cuddly, but don't let its appearance fool you into thinking that it's tamable. Actually, it has a grim backstory that you might not expect to come.

What's With Greavard's Spooky Lore?

Dogs are indeed man's best friends, but this does not imply that all of them are worth keeping. You might not want to pet an animal whose strange behavior will put you in grave danger.

This example perfectly depicts how Greavard deceives every Pokemon trainer that it encounters. According to GameSpot, this dog is so affectionate to the point that it will follow you wherever you go. However, there's a catch: it's only tricking you until you fall into its trap.

Apparently, it's only waiting for you so it could suck your life force, as per Pokemon's tweet.

"Greavard will slowly and inadvertently absorb the life force of those around it," the tweet reads.

In short, you will end up dead once you encounter this "cute" Pokemon everywhere. At all costs, you need to avoid this Pokemon in real life, but not in "Pokemon Scarlet and Violet."

Pokemon Fans Still Love Greavard Despite its Killer Nature

SVG reports that The Pokemon Company released a first-person video about Greavard. The narrator says that it's too cute to handle because it's too playful.

After some time of playing with the Ghost-type dog, the person suddenly collapsed. We're not sure if she is dead, but it's clear that Greavard also drained her energy.

Another theory about Greavard is that this Pokemon is not aware of its ability. It does not know that its mere presence can absorb every life force of the person it encounters.

Despite its sinister nature, people still adore Greavard's personality. According to one fan on Twitter, he will add this Pokemon to his party soon.

Another commented that it's the "best boy" ghost-type Pokemon to enter the game after some time. While others love its design, some critics think that it looks rushed and unfinished.

One critic said that Game Freak was lazy in designing Greavard. He claimed that it was only a dog with a candle on top of its head.

Litwick+Piloswine+Stoutland Hybrid?

At first glance, you will immediately see that it has similarities to Litwick, another Ghost-type Pokemon from the Unova region because of its candle-lit head.

Its design is quite similar to a hybrid of Stoutland and Piloswine. Some fans speculate that it would end up with an ice-typing at the end of the day. To date, the only Ghost/Ice-type Pokemon is Froslass, an alternative evolution of Snorunt.

Ahead of the official release of "Pokemon Scarlet and Violet '' on Nov. 18, we expect that The Pokemon Company will unveil more new Paldea Pokemon. The most awaited so far is the last-stage evolution form of the three starters of Gen 9.
