As preparation for one of the biggest incoming game launch this year, Call of Duty invited rappers, and entertainers for the latest trailer of the Modern Warfare sequel.
'Squad up' for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II
The live-action trailer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II just dropped and it features several singers, entertainers, and rappers in the industry, as reported first by Gaming Trend. These include Nicki Minaj, Pete Davidson, Lil Baby, Kane Brown, Bukayo Saka, Lando Norris, Jalen Ramsey, David Long Jr., Faze Clan's Nuke Squad, and more.
The music that was used in the video is a military marching song, but as per Gameranx, Call of Duty changed the lyrics to match the vibes of the game trailer. As per several reports, the game will have a new storyline and improved gameplay mechanics.
Before the release of the trailer, Cardi B tweeted last month that she was also offered a "multi-million dollar deal" from Call of Duty. Unfortunately, the rapper did not accept the offer because she had to attend a court date, and she pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor assault charges from 2018.
Acquisition Issues
The game has been in the talks lately not only because of its approaching release date but also the pending acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft. Currently, the deal is on hold. Reuters reported that EU antitrust regulators are reviewing the decision very carefully as they are figuring out if the sale will be harmful to the competition in the industry.
The proposed acquisition costs $69 billion, making it one of the biggest acquisition deals for the gaming industry.
