A report from Social Media Today stated that Twitter expanded its testing for the Twitter Status feature that started rolling out in July. The platform added more options for the feature and it now has a total count of 28 status options for users to choose from.
The recently added options are a unique combination of trending sayings on the platform and other popular activities such as, "Breaking news," "Gaming," "Pet of the day," "So wholesome," "Then and now," "To whom it may concern," "Touching grass," "Twitter do your thing," "Watching cricket," "Watching football," "Watching rugby" and "Winning."
App Researcher Jane Manchum Wong revealed the current listing on her Twitter account. She stated that icons are now improved as it is now 3D than the typical Twemojis. Based on her past tweet, the original count of the options are only eight statuses.
Early Access for Twitter Blue Subscribers
Meanwhile, the subscribers of Twitter Blue will not have early access to the features that have been rolled out today as it will only be available to selected users in the United States, based on a report by TechCrunch. A Twitter Spokesperson also added that majority of people in Australia will now be able to use the feature as a part of the expansion.
This decision may discourage the subscribers of the platform as the subscription was marketed for experiencing a range of features such as a better news reading experience, personalization options, and early access to testing. However, Twitter Status was not listed among the testings for Twitter Blue subscribers to experience.
This situation was very similar to what happened when Twitter rolled out the podcast feature to the platform's Audio tab. Twitter Blue subscribers were also not the first group of users who experienced the newest feature as it was only accessible to a random group of English speakers on the platform.
As a response, Twitter stated that the reason for not prioritizing its paid subscribers for this feature is that it needs to be tested with the broader public. Adding to this, the company considers only offering features that are very notable or important such as NFT profile pictures and the Edit Tweet option.

Edit Tweet Option
Twitter Blue announced last month that they are currently working on the Edit Tweet option which can be accessed first by its subscribers from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and will be followed by the United States.
The tweet features a "Last Edited" button and a pencil icon. When users will tap this button, they will see the unedited tweet together with its specific time. Twitter Blue Subscription cost $5 per month.
