The video player will also be updated as it will be "immersive" by tapping the video to make it full screen and scrolling to browse more content. The newly added features are very similar to the 'For You Page' of TikTok.

As per the announcement on the official blog of the platform, this update aims at Twitter to be the best place for video. The company stated, "We want to make it easy for everyone to use our service in the way that best fits their needs, and videos (including fun movie teasers) an important part of that."

As per Digital Trends, these updates will be available to iOS and Android users. While the videos on Explore tab are now available for selected countries, the immersive media viewer will be rolling out for the new few days.

TikTok-Like Features

Adding a new video feed is not surprising as a lot of social media companies have also joined the bandwagon of these types of features that TikTok started, such as Instagram and Facebook's Reels and YouTube Shorts.

Chief Executive Officer Kevin Mayer welcomes its competitors to copy their products and features. He stated that he likes to compete with them happily as several platforms already offer 'copycat products'.

Last August, Instagram also added 'TikTok-like' features like Duet and Stitch as they launched the Reels Remix feature. Users can now create their own reels side by side with different content and now has the ability to show their own clips after the original creator's clip.

Edit Tweet Testing

Aside from the video-related updates, Twitter also teased its users by tweeting via @TwitterBlue that the company is currently testing an "edit" tweet.

The tweet reveals how will the new feature looks like, where users will be able to see the unedited tweet along with its specific time. A pencil icon will be shown on the tweet to access this information. Users will be given 30 minutes of grace period to edit their tweets.

As per CNet, this will be available first to Twitter Blue subscribers once the feature is launched. $5 will be charged to its subscribers every month.

The subscribers who will be accessing the feature first will be from Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. This will be followed by the United States. No confirmation yet from Twitter whether this feature will be rolling outside from Twitter Blue.
