Netflix continuously develops its video game division as it will open an internal game studio in Helsinki, Finland based on a report by CNet.
The streaming company announced on Monday that the games that they will be offering through this new establishment will have no ads and no in-app purchases.
Former Zynga Executive Marko Lastikka will be leading the studio, which is also known as a mobile developer for making games like FarmVille, Words with Friends, CSR Racing, and more.
A statement from Vice President of Game Studios at Netflix Amir Rahimi was released and it said, "This is another step in our vision to build a world-class games studio that will bring a variety of delightful and deeply engaging original games ... to our hundreds of millions of members around the world."
Other Game Studios Purchased this Year
This will not be Netflix's first this year as the company purchased Next Games for $72 million, which is also based in Finland. These are the developers for the last year's mobile title Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales.
Aside from this, Netflix also purchased Boss Fight Studio earlier this year which is based in Texas alongside with California-based Night School Studio last year.

Available Netflix Games
As of now, Netflix has 20 mobile games available to download for its subscribers. The company plans to add 50 more by the end of this year. The cache includes Stranger Things: 1984 and Queen's Gambit Chess which are both based on an original series from Netflix.
Along with these, an upcoming game will be launched called 'Nailed It! Baking Bash" which was developed by Paladin Studios. Through this game, players will go through a series of rapid-fire mini-games to bake and design. It also comes with a multiplayer mode where users can play with their friends.
'Fewer than 1%' of 220 Million Subscribers
As the company expands its catalog by the end of the year, a report from CNBC reveals that most of the subscribers of the streaming platform are not playing the games that they are offering.
TechCrunch also revealed that the total engagements of the games daily are fewer than 1% of the total subscribers of the company. Netflix has 220 million subscribers as of the moment.
Despite these reports, the company did not release any statement regarding these accusations.
Netflix subscribers can see the games that the company is offering within the Netflix application but the games can be downloaded individually.
