Apple is now banking on customers to make the next iPhone a success amid a year of raging inflation and unstable technology expenditure. The new phones will be available on the shelves on Friday, Sept. 16.
The top-tier Pro versions, which cost at least $1,000, are the only ones in the iPhone 14 collection with the best features. According to preorder data, the most expensive new iPhone is the model that is most in demand, as per Bloomberg's report.
iPhone 14 Series
There is still a need for premium cellphones, which is Apple's strength, despite the fact that general expenditure on mobile devices and computers is decreasing this year, according to Bloomberg.
Along with new Apple Watches and AirPods, the iPhone 14 series was announced earlier this month. Analysts were surprised that the corporation didn't raise prices because they had assumed that inflationary pressure would compel them to do so.
Even Apple's newest processor, the A16, is not supported by the $799 entry-level standard iPhone. Instead, it makes use of the A15 chip from the previous year, with the A16 used in Pro variants.
Additionally, the Pro phones receive considerable camera upgrades and a brand-new user interface called Dynamic Island.
Apple changed up its display setups for its new lineup as well. The iPhone mini is no longer available. Instead, the business is staking its future on consumers' desire for larger screens.
However, the 6.1-inch model and the 6.7-inch Plus model of the non-Pro iPhone 14 won't be available until October 7.
Preorders for iPhone 14 Pro Max
According to a report by KGI Securities, the preorder data indicates that the iPhone 14 Pro Max is in higher demand than the same model was the previous year.
Bloomberg further noted that the year had seen a decline in smartphone sales in China, an important market and Apple's main production base. But according to Daryanani of Evercore ISI, Apple shipments are up 5% against a 23% worldwide fall.
Analysts predict that Apple sales will increase by 6% this quarter, slowing from the 29% increase it had a year ago when people were still buying technology despite the pandemic.
The iPhone 14 will launch a few weeks earlier than normal this year, which should support Apple's revenue in the third quarter of September.
The company typically experiences its busiest sales quarter of the year in the December quarter, which is driven by Christmas spending. Sales are expected to rise by 3% throughout that time, according to analyst projections.
