Apple's iOS 16.0.1 for iPhone and iPhone 14 Pro models have started rolling out. The latest update of iOS brings a few bug fixes right off the bat.
But on top of that, the renowned tech giant also started releasing the new iOS 16.1 Beta 1, which provides new features that failed to make it in the earliest iOS 16 release. It also brings other performance improvements that are not exclusive to the iPhone 14 series.
Apple's iOS 16.0.1 for iPhone 14 Rolls Out
As per the latest report by 9to5 Mac, the iPhone maker has started dishing out the latest iOS 16.0.1 shortly after it rolled out the first-ever iOS 16 update to eligible mobile devices.
It is worth mentioning that the latest update is meant for the newest iPhone 14 lineup. Version 16.0.1 offers a few bug fixes for the new models, including the standard iPhone 14 and 14 Pro variants.
Apple introduced the new iOS 16 update with release notes, allowing us to get a better idea of what we are getting from the latest release.
iPhone 14 Bug Fixes Are Available on iOS 16.0.1
The iOS 16.0.1 update crashes a few annoying bugs iPhone 14 users have been grappling with.
The release notes recommend that "all users" get it right away. It further says it "provides important bug fixes for your iPhone."
And to be less vague, here are some of the fixes the new iOS 16 version offers.
It has killed the bug that makes photos "appear soft" when iPhone 14 Pro Max users zoom in while the phone is in landscape mode. The new update also fixed the bug that prevents enterprise single sign-on apps from authenticating.
And most of all, Apple has also addressed the bug wherein the activation and migration while setting up the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro is pretty janky.
iOS 16.1 Beta: Are There New Features
As mentioned, Apple has also started rolling out Beta 1 of iOS 16, which should first be available to developers, followed by beta testers.
It is important to note that some of the features that Apple teased during the WWDC event, failed to make it to the earliest release of iOS 16.
But the next update should do the job. According to Mac World, the battery percentage indicator is arriving on older iPhones, such as iPhone X, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 mini, and iPhone 13 mini. There's also a new Clean Energy Charging feature.
