In the next few weeks, the iPhone 14 will be released to the public. However, some handset models in this lineup could be facing component shortages ahead of their launch.
iPhone 14 Might Be Short in Supply
According to a report by MacRumors, the Cupertino tech titan might have some backlogs in releasing new iPhone 14 models.
At least one variant of the next-gen smartphone will be three weeks late for its official release. This could be attributed to the aftermath of the COVID-19 lockdowns, which have affected several businesses across China.
The specific model, the iPhone 14 Max, could be the affected iPhone handset this time. It is expected that until the latter part of this month, this model won't be eligible for mass production.
As of press time, the report suggests that only the iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and the standard iPhone 14 have already entered mass production.
According to a trusted tipster Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple might not have any plans to alter the shipping for the upcoming handsets. Although the lockdowns in Chinese regions have gravely impacted the supply chain of the products, the company will be sticking to its original plan.
It should be noted that the suppliers have been complying with Apple's demands, to the point that they are working overtime.
Previously, the iPhone maker told Foxconn that it would begin the recruitment process for the new workers.
As such, Apple wants to reach its target shipment for the iPhone 14 models at an earlier pace amid potential delays that might happen in the midst of China's lockdowns.
Kuo claims that the component shortage the iPhone 14 handhelds currently face could be underway for production.
It could mean that Samsung is doubling its effort to provide display panels for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max. The supply gap issue might exist, but this action will remedy the problem that needs to be solved.

What We Know So Far About iPhone 14
The controversies surrounding the rumored iPhone 14 come in different shapes and sizes. Many leaks from unknown sources are pointing out the possible features of the new Apple smartphone.
According to Tom's Guide, the regular iPhone 14 model might borrow the early specs of the iPhone 13. Starting from its screen to the software updates, the changes might be minimal only for the upcoming handheld.
However, the iPhone 14 Pro variant could sport a more noticeable design thanks to its punch-hole design. Apart from that, it might come with an A16 Bionic chip which is expected to be present in iPhone 14 Pro Max, as well.
If the iPhone 14 lineup isn't released next month, it will be revealed in the upcoming Apple October event.
Bloomberg reported that the smartphones could likely be unveiled on Sept. 7. Nine days later, Apple will start to sell them to the customers, just in time for the expected launch of the iPhone 14.
The pre-order schedule is rumored to kick off on Sept. 9. There's no final date when it will end.
