Roku TV is a smart TV with a simple home screen, an easy-to-use remote, and automatic software updates. You can watch your favorite movies and TV shows on one device.
The first screen that you see when you turn on the device is the home screen. It is a simple interface, but that does not mean it can't be personalized to your liking. Below are a few easy ways to do it.
Change the Theme of the Screen
According to HowtoGeek, Roku devices come with the classic purple theme, but you do not have to live with that.
There are a lot of themes that you can choose from. You can even change the wallpaper, the sounds, and the screensaver.
To do this, navigate to "Settings" in the left sidebar on the home screen. Then select "Theme: and check "Theme Packs."
Choose a theme to use and click "Get Theme Pack." You won't see this option if the theme has been downloaded to the device.
Finally, click "Set Theme Pack." It will only take a couple of seconds to apply, and then you will see a new theme.
Re-Arrange the Channels on the Screen
The Roku TV home screen is full of channel icons. You can easily re-arrange them to put your favorites at the top, according to Tom's Guide.
First, use the Roku TV remote to highlight a channel and click the asterisks button on the remote.
Choose "Move Channel" from the menu and use the d-pad on the remote to move the channel around. Click the "OK" button on the remote to place the channel.
Turn Off the Sounds of Your Roku TV
The home screen default makes a noise every time you move or choose something. It is a bit much, but you can always turn it off.
First, go to "Settings" in the left sidebar on the Roku TV home screen.
Next, choose "Audio" from the Settings options and go to "Menu Volume."
If you do not want to turn off the sounds completely, you can choose from High, Medium, and Low.
Clean Up the Roku TV Menu
The menu sidebar is the second main part of the home screen, and it can be customized as well. You can remove some entries from the menu to clean it up a bit.
First, go to Settings, then choose "Home Screen." You will see a couple of things listed there. Each one can be toggled to Show or Hide.
Choose which listings you want to see and those that you do not want to see.
Roku Features You Should Be Using
After cleaning up the home screen, you can now explore your Roku TV. There are many amazing features you can take advantage of to maximize your streaming experience, according to BRG.
You can easily check all of the streaming sites at once by typing it on the Search tab on the home screen. Or you can search for them through the voice search feature on compatible remotes.
You can also use Google Assistant via Roku and disable ads and tracking.
