Apple's AirTag helped a man reunite with his stolen car. The vehicle's owner had already experienced a failed theft before.
Based on the police reports, someone attempted to steal the man's Hyundai Santa Fe on July 2. However, the theft was not successful.
But, after a week, the man's car was stolen. Since this was not the owner's first time, he was ready for the theft.
Action News 5 reported that Joshua Wylie, a Memphis resident, installed a surveillance camera in his apartment window, which he pointed in the direction of his SUV's parking spot.

Thanks to this, he could find the exact location of his stolen vehicle.
"If I hadn't had that AirTag to show me where [the vehicle] was so early this morning, it's very likely there could've been thousands of dollars more damage to my vehicle," said Joshua.
This latest story is quite different from the previous reports, which state that criminals are taking advantage of the advanced Apple AirTag.
But is this tracking device really good against thefts?
Is Apple AirTag Good Against Thefts?
If you own an Apple AirTag, then you already know that it can be identified easily. Experts stated that the tracking device has a lot of features that can give away its presence.
For example, if the criminals are using iPhones, their device will receive a notification that an unknown AirTag is near their location.
Aside from this, the tracking gadget also has audio that will notify the owner if it is separated from them. Although this is the case, it is still worth trying since thieves are usually occupied with the things they steal.
Now, if you own an Apple AirTag, CNET provides the best places where you can put your tracking device. These include the following:
- Inside a tent
- Inside your luggage or bag
- Inside your laptop bag
- On your bicycle, motorcycle, or car
- Inside your jacket pocket
Meanwhile, Apple AirTags without speakers were spotted on Etsy and eBay.
On the other hand, Apple rolled out a solution for the AirTag Phantom Alert issues.
